Government relationships

We help you build trust and momentum through meaningful engagement. We specialise in complex, high-stakes community and stakeholder outcomes, especially in low-trust or politically sensitive environments.

Social impact

We help projects understand their social footprint, not just in compliance terms, but in real community outcomes. Our social impact services uncover the full picture of how a project affects people, place, and culture. We identify risks and opportunities early, design meaningful mitigation and benefit strategies, and ensure capital investment aligns with community expectations and local priorities.

We bring lived experience and local insight to every assessment. Whether it's a new development, infrastructure upgrade, or adaptive reuse project, we go beyond templates to reflect the actual context of change. We pay particular attention to vulnerable groups, legacy trauma, and First Nations considerations, critical issues often overlooked but essential to project success.

Our work is deeply integrated with our planning and engagement services. It informs design, strengthens funding proposals, and supports delivery strategies that are transparent, practical, and grounded in community reality.

Services include:

  • Baseline community profiling

  • Targeted impact assessments

  • Options testing and mitigation strategy design

  • Monitoring and evaluation frameworks

  • Alignment with NSW and national planning systems.

First Nations engagement

We take a relational and embedded approach to First Nations engagement. We recognise the responsibility and privilege of delivering infrastructure on Country, and approach our work with care, reciprocity and humility. We use this experience to advise on adopting respectful practices when working on projects that impact Aboriginal communities and Country.

Our approach includes:

  • Early co-design with Elders and community

  • Cultural protocol integration and interpretation

  • Aboriginal-led decision-making and governance

  • Supporting Aboriginal employment and enterprise

  • Advising non-Aboriginal delivery partners on culturally appropriate practice

We ensure that design and delivery decisions uphold cultural values, support local self-determination, and strengthen connection to Country. We maintain long-standing, trust-based relationships with Elders, Traditional Custodians, LALCs, and Aboriginal community-controlled organisations across Northern NSW. Our role often includes mentoring clients to embed respectful processes and ensure infrastructure delivers long-term cultural, social and economic benefit to Aboriginal communities. This approach is not just ethical, it delivers better outcomes.

Community engagement and consultation

We deliver trust-based, on-the-ground engagement that earns social licence, particularly in complex, high-risk environments where others have failed. Our team works in community and on Country, designing engagement that defuses opposition, rebuilds trust, and helps projects move forward.

This work goes far beyond messaging. We specialise in contexts marked by legacy trauma, broken trust or vocal dissent — where traditional consultation tools don’t work. We’ve built dialogue in emotionally and politically charged settings, turning resistance into practical outcomes.

Services include:

  • Community profiling and social impact integration

  • Culturally safe and trauma-aware engagement

  • High-risk stakeholder strategy

  • First Nations engagement and partnerships

  • Conflict-sensitive communication and facilitation.

Community resistance leadership

We help projects navigate entrenched opposition and public distrust — especially where trust has broken down or misinformation is spreading. Our community resistance leadership service gets high-risk projects moving again through calm, strategic, and credible leadership.

We don’t avoid resistance — we work with it. Our team is experienced in politically sensitive, media-scrutinised and emotionally charged contexts. We identify the real sources of resistance, map pathways to re-engagement, and support leadership teams to face communities with integrity.

Services include:

  • Resistance risk profiling

  • Strategic reset planning

  • Leader and spokesperson coaching

  • Rapid-response engagement plans

  • Design of governance structures that rebuild trust over time

Inter-government relationships

We help projects build strong relationships across local, state and federal government — not just for compliance, but as a strategy for delivery, funding, and long-term alignment.

We bring deep knowledge of how government works, including the risks, incentives and mandates that shape decisions at every level. We understand where jurisdictions overlap, where tensions sit, and how to move forward in politically complex environments.

Our services turn transactional or adversarial dynamics into long-term partnerships. We position government not just as regulator or funder, but as a partner in delivering shared public value.

Services include:

  • Government briefings and stakeholder mapping

  • Inter-agency alignment and strategy

  • Investor and policy engagement

  • Governance and reporting frameworks

  • Long-term positioning for funding and approvals.
